Matthew Dumpit

Matthew Dumpit graduated from California State University Long Beach in 2015 with a BFA in Metals and Jewelry. Matthew is well versed in a range of fine art metallurgy, as well as light-based installation and interactive works. He is inspired by motion, and seeks to integrate movement and interaction in his works as a means of evoking or triggering emotion. Conceptually, Matthew views both metal and our emotions as malleable, and under constant evolution.

Matthew Dumpit creates an ephemeral light sculpture by reflecting light off of pieces of metal, therein revealing a shimmering river of light on the walls of the dark basement.

Matthew Dumpit is part of Michael Nannery’s Mind Games – Group Exhibition –
